Expressing APPRECIATION for the people you LIVE / WORK with, communicating to them that they are valued members of the family / organization, helps them feel RESPECTED.
So how do you show people you appreciate them? You can start by learning as much as you can about the people you live/work with.
Another way to show appreciation is by letting people know that you CARE about them. REJOICE with them when they are joyful and express your SYMPATHY when they are troubled. If you know someone has been putting in extra effort on an important stuff/project, tell them you are aware that it has been a tough couple of weeks and you appreciate all of their hard work.
Do the people you live / work with know how much you appreciate them? Are you sure? Why not make sure by getting to know them better, by showing that you CARE, and by directly telling them what you APPRECIATE about them.

STEM反思003 I STEM I 是啥 ?
近呢兩年來經常聽見人成日講STEM ( 有D仲講STEAM tim) ,又話政府出錢出力系學校推,又話呢家做STEM好吃香,又可以申請funding,什麼什麼3D printing / mbot / robotics..coding..Scratch 等等課程就系STEM , 又可以好賺錢⋯⋯
其實,我除左知道STEM 是代表Science Technology Engineering Mathematics 之外 (都系上網查先知ja )⋯⋯根本就唔知道系乜東東law, 而且作為 讀文科的我 根本完全無唸過科學呢+野會關到我咩事囉⋯⋯但是,基於好奇心驅使下 和一些實際需要,我開始了解下關注下研究下,到依家才先知道多少少⋯⋯簡單講,STEM education 源於美國,強調多學科(科學科技工程數學)的交叉融合,以更好地培養學生的創新精神與實踐能力 (背後可能有的政治原素)。...之後,在坊間,就加上很多很多很多很美麗的詞語 如啓發思維呀,加強孩子創新,強化邏輯思考..等等。(一些家長淨系聽到都feel good的形容詞 )
而我,就思考緊幾個問題啦⋯⋯
1: 美國(特別是奧巴馬年代)推出STEM教育理念時,是否同現在的香港整體教育制度環境一樣呢?
2: 學校現在推動的STEM,是否為STEM而STEM架?執行者又是否知道真正背後的教育意義和理念是什麼呢?是否在學科上加D STEM野就系架?會否成為另一個盲目的潮流架?
3: 既然理念是跨學科(科學科技工程數學的交叉融合),那麼文科項目又去左邊度呢?視藝呢?音樂呢?⋯⋯er...仲有體育呢?😂😁
4: 科技野 會唔會使到人與人之間更疏遠架?(依家都疏疏地gar bor)
而我,就簡單D唸,面對著我們香港這個《物質超級過剩》的城市裡,如果可以同我們下一代一起可以學識下自己擁有緊D咩,學識下保護下周圍環境,學識下廢物利用/ 升級再造,學識下花花草草鳥兒的名字,學識下世界各地博物館藝術館的文化和珍藏,認識下畢加索梵高莫奈Gaudi毛子水 ,學識下知足常樂,探知下宇宙的奇趣,再結合STEM本身的優質意義 ....那麼就...世界更美好了lu☝️🏽
所以,若果在STEM的原基礎上加上一些持續綠色生活態度( Upcycling) 和普及藝術 (P op Art) , 那麼就比較適合我自己的河車啦... 亦可以同身邊的小朋友們分享下這STEM UP 的理念。
再重新申明, 我唔識科學,更加唔系從事教育,只是有感而寫, 而且真系想 UP下个STEM , 請大家給多點意見,集思廣益一起頭腦風暴下啦...

is Actually Good for Innovation?
Everyone comes up with ideas differently .
It means that it's very difficult to have one CLEAR methodology for innovation
that works for everyone.
But, if we could simplify a complex process like innovation, it could open up new ways of creative thinking. The answer might be making innovation more conventional. Instead of thinking outside-the-box, it can actually be beneficial to think inside the box.
Contrary to popular myth "Think Out Of The Box " , imagination and innovation are actually spurred by constraints.
Too much freedom can be paralyzing.
Innovation is not simply coming up with ideas. Innovation is about actualizing ideas and re-imagining how things work. For something to be innovative, it must also actually effect a change. It must take action and create an impact. Therefore, just creating an idea isn't really innovative since the process should also develop results. That is why putting constraints into the innovation process is actually helpful.

Here now, our team try to prove this by developing a set of box to let players using the lightbricks to create different funny ideas inside the box during Mid~Autumn Festival .

STEM UP 教育
Science I Technology I Engineering I Multimedia I Upcycling I Pop art
STEM UP 代表著一種現代的教育哲學
更注重學習的過程 而不是結果
在過程中讓學生聽到不同的觀點
嘗試不同的想法
在不斷試錯中發現問題
分析問題和解決問題
應該注重實踐、注重動手、注重過程
正是受到了建構主義教育理論的影響
希望讓孩子們通過製作自己喜歡的東西
在製作過程中建構起
關於科學、技術、工程、跨媒體、
環保和普及文化藝術的知識
所以 STEMUP 教育不一定是在桌椅整齊的教室上課,
而是在充滿各種工具、可升級再造的廢物、畫筆、電路板、晶片、3D列印、
智能水培 各種黑科技教育產品等等的
工作坊或創作空間
如果我們要準備一個完整的STEM UP 教學
應該是鼓勵受眾者基於現實生活中的實際問題
而提出他們自己的解決思路
觀察 I 學習模仿 I 創造
CHANCE CHALLENGE CREATION (3Cs)
如果缺乏了這一步,
STEM UP 教學的意義便缺失了最根本的基礎.

受眾者(孩子們)哪些能力呢?
1: 🌱激發好奇的天性和主動探索能力
~去探索奥秘
2: 🌱培養孩子各方面技能和認識能力
~科學、技術、工程、跨媒體 、環保、
普及文化藝術之間應該存在著一種
相互支撐、相互補充、共同發展的關係
讓孩子自己動手完成他們感興趣的
並且和他們生活相關的項目
從過程中學習各種學科和跨學科的知識
3: 🌱在動手實踐過程中培養創新意識
~但提升動手實踐能力不等於提升創造力
基於創新意識下 結合動手實踐和探索
才能真正喚醒孩子與生俱來的創造力潛能
4: 🌱引導同伴間合作和解決問題的能力
~引導孩子在自主思考和探索的同時
善於與同伴交流或交換思想意見
尤其在動手過程中力求解決問題
讓他嘗試在一個小群體中
體驗到創造的樂趣 這樣更有利於幫助他
把這股創造生命力持續下去
5:🌱加深對持續綠色生活和普及文化藝術的認識
不要對藝術進行狹隘的定義
比如塗鴉 、light painting 、繪畫、陶藝、
音樂、電影 、動画、廢物利用等藝術
都能帶來創造力的源泉
